Hi,
Yes "open sesame" was so good but,
"Spirit of the Boogie" quintessential funk dance record/song. Just amazing. lnclude "Get down on it". oozes class.

General Discussion / We need band to release the Victory remix
« Last post by fourcorneredroom on February 03, 2017, 10:07:08 PM »
K&TG did a regional remix for the Victory record, the year the N.Y. Giants went to first Superbowl.

Last heard it 30 years ago but still remember it.

We need the song released, at least for the Superbowl

Open Sesame is my fav K&TG song. I know the album was released in November of 1976. (40th anniversary coming up) Does anyone know the exact date? (single or album)
Also any info on the creation of the song: where it was recorded, female vocalists, etc...would be appreciated.

General Discussion / High School Visit Central Pennsylvania
« Last post by curtis1977 on September 17, 2016, 09:41:09 AM »
I am an educator from central Pennsylvania familiar with Kool and the Gang music. I discovered recently Kool and the Gang will appear at the Luhr's Center at Shippensburg University March 17 (?). I am hoping that someone or the whole band would visit the high school where I work to share their success with students interested in learning music/music business/being in a band. I can be reached at kwaku419@centurylink.net 717-701-3554.  :)

General Discussion / Kool's Lamborghini
« Last post by Howard on September 07, 2016, 09:54:18 AM »
Can anybody help me with this one please.
On their 1987 (I think) album "Greatest Hits......and more" the reverse side shows a photograph of various forms of transport, plane, truck, limo etc, and a Lamborghini Countach.
Does anyone know if the Lamborghini was owned by one of the band members or was it just hired in for the photo shoot ??  Much appreciated if anyone could shed some light.
Many thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Snoqualmie Casino Concert 7/3
« Last post by jenny on May 03, 2016, 11:50:36 AM »
Hello
I love Kool & The Gang.

Regarding the outdoor Snoqualmie Casino Concert on July 3, the music reaching the Valley is absolutely awful. It does your blues and rhythms mass disservice. It sound like rambling NOISE.

I only want the best for a group whose talents and time should not be wasted on an event that would injury your reputation.

The best to you always,
Jenny
